Mr Maria Kokeshi Lamp

Incase you were wondering who this adorable little persona is that beams so brilliantly, it’s Kokeshi. She originates from a country of incredible cloudy mountains, which impressive dragons call home. In the north of her peculiar land, it is tradition to give a Kokeshi doll as a gift when a child enters the world. The folk tale goes that whoever gains a Kokeshi doll upon the birth of their child will receive blessing upon blessing.

Upon encountering Kokeshi, Mr Maria straight away fell in love with her simple characteristics mixed with a powerful feeling of affection. Both of which made her a perfect fit for the brand. Mr Maria has no doubt that Kokeshi will bring good fortune and happiness wherever she goes, not to mention the incredible light she provides. The light’s dimensions are as follows: width 33 cm, length 36 cm, and height 63 cm. It is provided with a dimmable LED light and weighs 3 kg. The Kokeshi lamp is made out of white Polyethylene.

Mr Maria is a Dutch design workshop found in Amsterdam. The workshop was created by Jannes Hak and Lennart Bosker. The company maintains a fun-loving, creative personality and are open to trying new things when it comes to ideas and design. Mr Maria sets out to design bold creations for children, no matter what their age. Their mantra as designers is as follows: “We don’t make products, we create stars!”.
